An Island of cultural adventure
Brač is the longest and most elevated island in central Dalmatia and despite being in such close proximity to Split it is much less touristy than the glittering islands of Hvar and Korcula further south. Formed mainly of limestone and dolomite, the island has been a source for the construction of decorative stone works such as amphitheaters, temples, palaces and graves around the entire coast of Dalmatia for centuries.
After an appetizing breakfast onboard be sure to explore Supetar, the largest town on the island. Enjoy some of the town's heritage as you stroll through the Croatian back streets and visit the 18th-century parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, surrounded by the Leroj bell tower and the gorgeous church museum. The small old town is also worth wandering around on a lazy sunny afternoon, gazing at the uniquely beautiful harbor and enjoying the cozy restaurants and Croatian konobas that line the waterfront creating a relaxed and peaceful ambience.
For those who want to immerse themselves in the rich ocean life, there's nothing to beat snorkeling in secluded crystal clear waters from your very own superyacht charter. In Brač you are spoiled for choice, sail to the south of the island where you will find the world famous beach Zlatni Rat, an absolute dream location for water sport enthusiasts. Resembling a unique crescent shape, reminiscent of a golden horn, the beach extends almost 500 meters into the turquoise sea. Created by nature, the shape of this fine pebble beach changes depending on the current and tides, perfect for an afternoon of snorkelling and exploring. From windsurfing and waterskiing to parasailing and kayaking, there is something for everyone to choose from on this idyllic coastline.
If you’re looking for an adventure inland, one of the most rewarding activities is hiking up Vidova Gora. As the highest island mountain on the Adriatic, be prepared for the most beautiful views looking out onto the glistening Mediterranean. The walk is five kilometers long and takes you up seven hundred metres before reaching the summit, allowing you the best views of the surrounding islands and of course, the famous golden horn on Zlatni Rat beach.
Brač is an authentic island of culture and adventure, combining natural resources with its rich cultural heritage making it an exceptional destination for an active vacation.
