Palma
Your Balearics adventure starts here
On arrival at Palma you will head straight for you chosen luxury charter yacht.
Meet your crew and enjoy a tour of your vessel before toasting your voyage and raising anchor. There’s plenty of time to unpack and settle in but don’t take too long because the gems of the Balearics await. Your 10 days in the Spanish heat start off in true holiday fashion with parties on the beach and an energetic game of beach volleyball.
The scene is high energy and adrenaline pumping here, but if you fancy something a little quieter your crew can cruise around to one of the quieter beaches for some relaxation time. Rest on the warm sands and indulge in some freshly caught seafood as you pace yourself for an evening of colourful cocktails on the decking of your luxury charter yacht.
- Day 2
Sa Dragonera
An idyllic island sanctuary awaits
Your first full day of your Balearic tour is full of incredible natural beauty.
Just off of the west coast of Mallorca, Sa Dragonera is an uninhabited islet which serves a purpose as a natural park. Being virtually unspoilt, there are some beautiful views to see here, some of which are best enjoyed on the islet’s highest hill, Pico Popi. At 360-metres high, the climb isn’t for everyone, but even half way up there are still some spectacular views to enjoy.
The name of the islet, Dragonera, originated from the fact there was a large number of lizards living on the island. Today, there are still a good number of lizards living here, in addition to a great number of other indigenous creatures.
While visiting the island there are some lighthouses and watchtowers to visit which tell the story of how the islet has been defended against pirates and other sea bound threats in the past. If history interests you, something else you might like to know is that part of Agatha Christie’s Evil Under The Sun was filmed here.
If there’s still time after exploring Sa Dragonera you can also make a stop at one of the other pretty islets nearby for an afternoon of peace and pampering.
- Day 3 - 4
Pollença
Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture
Much of day three is spent cruising along the coastline towards Pollença.
Your journey towards Pollença is enchanting as you travel past the stretch of peaks known as the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The elevations border the coastline along with sprinklings of forestry which make for ideal holiday snaps, not to mention causing envy on your insta account. As you continue along the mountain range you will come across the quaint setting of Sa Calobra. This small settlement is nestled into the base of peaks and only accessible via a long winding road. However, since you are approaching by sea you have the perfect opportunity to enjoy this quiet and undeniably pretty corner of the coast all by yourself.
Moving on to the Bay of Pollença, there’s an afternoon of swimming and water sports on offer to expend some pent up energy. After anchoring overnight in the protected bay, day four is the time for you to climb ashore and explore.
As soon as you step into the town of Pollença you will find it impossible to notice the mediaeval ambiance. With many of the buildings being built in the 17th and 18th centuries, there is a charm about Pollença which invites you to take a step back into the past. This is heightened as you climb the many steps uphill to visit a small chapel at the top. Another must-see for religious history is the 13th century church of Our Lady Of The Angels which was built by the Knights Templar.
If you still have some energy left after finishing off the 365 steps of Cavalry, there are some lovely sights at the Joan March Gardens, and the Roman Bridge is also an interesting place. Your time in Pollença wouldn’t be complete without a Spanish supper, so instead of dining onboard your luxury charter yacht tonight, stay ashore and enjoy some traditional cuisine and live music at one of the many restaurants in the town.
- Day 5
Ciutadella
Discover traditional Spanish culture
On day five of your Spanish pilgrimage you arrive at Menorca.
Ciutadella is the western most town of Menorca and offers a stunning view of traditional Spain. The cobbled streets are truly enchanting and provide a pretty setting for a lovely morning of trying locally prepared tapas and exploring. There are some exquisite stores with pretty souvenirs to take away, and the cafes all offer a taste of Spain along with an ice-cold carafe of Sangria.
In addition to Ciutadella, day five of your luxury charter itinerary also makes time for you to enjoy some quality beach time. Cala del Pilar is a tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream tourists. Meaning you can savor the rest of your day in solitude. The golden sands are welcoming, especially paired up with a delicious beach picnic. but if you fancy a bit more action there’s plenty of space on the water to get out the water toys.
If at any point you need to cool off from the warm Spanish sun there are a great number of secluded coves around the coastline offering shelter. Alternatively, head to the bar, grab a refreshing drink and relax.
- Day 6
Parque Natural de s’Albufera des Grau
Immerse yourself in nature
Continuing onwards and towards Menorca’s capital Mahon, your next port of call is a truly special one.
Locally known as one of Menorca’s natural wonders, this natural park is one of the most visually pleasing sights you will see on this tour of the Balearic islands. Despite the close proximity to the main islands, the collection of small islets forming the nature reserve are pristine. Almost completely untouched, these idyllic islands are a blissful way to spend a day in paradise.
The beaches are nearly empty and completely free of cruise line tourists. Enjoy the sanctity of the islets from these luxurious golden beaches or continue further inland, and up the raised terrains, to enjoy a refreshing picnic with an unbeatable view. Don’t forget to take some holiday photographs with the sweeping panoramic views.
The rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish. Make the most of the peace and quiet and finish off the day with a barbeque and something bubbly and elegant.
- Day 7
Mahon
Take a stroll then indulge in some retail therapy
Moving away from the idyllic setting at the Parque Natural de s’Albufera des Grau, Menorca’s capital beckons you in to a destination of culture.
Boasting one of the world’s largest natural harbors, Mahon brings you back to civilization but keeps the charm of the natural world close at hand. Stroll around the natural harbor to appreciate the beauty of this corner of Menorca before adventuring towards the town and some brunch.
If your purse strings are itching for some retail therapy, you couldn’t be in a better place. There are myriad stores and cafes to visit including some exquisite shoe shops just calling out your name. While in the shopping area, pick up some locally produced sangria to take home and enjoy some live traditional music from one of the local bars.
Your day in Mahon can be topped off with more tapas and a tasting session of more locally made drinks, including a few varieties of gin. Head back to your luxury charter yacht to sleep off the cocktails and prepare for your next day in the Balearics.
- Day 8
Cala Ratjada
Barefoot bliss on powder-fine sands
In the morning, the Captain will up-anchor and head back to the east coast of Mallorca.
By the time you arrive at Cala Ratjada you will have recovered from the night before and ready to enjoy some water and sunbathing time. Stretch your legs with some beachcombing across the stunning white sandy beaches or lay upon the warm sand to soak up some rays.
Your crew will pick out a quiet area of the coast, away from mainstream tourists, so once again you can dive into the toy locker for some exhilarating on-water frolics. Some of the beaches are completely inaccessible from land, so enjoy the space and really go to town with your water sports equipment.
Lounge around under a pagoda while your attentive yacht crew serves you drinks in the warm evening, and marvel as the sun sets in a tangerine and cerise blaze over the horizon.
- Day 9
Calas de Mallorca
Snorkeling and cave exploration are the order of the day
On your final full day on board your luxury charter yacht, the Calas de Mallorca throws everything into one for a day that you won’t forget.
Start the day nice and early by having a swim in the cool waters, or grab your snorkelling gear to see some of the pretty underwater life. Keeping to the lower depths, one must see for today are the Drach Caves. Featuring one of the world’s largest underground lakes this is a natural site you won’t want to miss out on.
How you spend the rest of the day is entirely up to you but food for the day should include a visit to the tapas bars here as they are some of the most popular eateries in the area.
- Day 10
Palma
All good things must come to an end
The time comes for you to depart from your luxury charter yacht tour of the Balearics.
Before heading home, there is a little time to explore Mallorca's capital Palma and enjoy one last delicious round of Spanish tapas. Head back to the yacht to say your final goodbyes before making your way back to Palma airport, and beginning to plan your next trip on a private yacht charter.
